SEQ 1. Montage: Dana’s life.
Dana lives in a pristine community, with her traditional, religious parents. She goes to school and goes straight home without complaint, but she longs to go out and party, get with boys, have sex, drugs, and rock & roll.

SEQ 2. Dana’s room, evening.

One night, in her room, she prays to God to free her of her sinful desires, but at the same time that they be fulfilled. Suddenly, the devil appears to Dana instead. He assures her that he is not as bad as they say, and his handsomeness easily coaxes her into talking. The devil tells her that her conflicting desires, that her having “two people in one body,” won’t work out. He proposes that he makes her a perfect double of herself, so that she can be a party girl and an angel at the same time.

Dana becomes suspicious of his motives, and asks if he wants anything in return, like her soul. The devil tells her that he doesn’t want anything, only that if she agrees, she has to stay in it for a year.

Dana argues if it wouldn’t be confusing to have two bodies at the same time, The devil replies that she has two minds in her body already, and that she will get used to it. Finally, Dana agrees to his proposition. She asks how the devil will create her other body, if he needs a hair or blood. The devil replies that he only needs a kiss, and before she can protest, the devil leans in and kisses her, as she closes her eyes and gets lost in her first kiss.

SEQ 3. Dana’s room/Dana’s home, morning.

The next day, Dana wakes up, and is disoriented by the sudden feeling of being in two places at once. She realizes on her bed beside her is her double. They stare at each other before turning to the foot of the bed, where the devil has been sitting since they woke up. Giving a slight wave, the devil reminds Dana of their year-long deal, before he vanishes.

The Danas give each other another look before Mom knocks on Dana’s door to wake Dana up for class. Both Danas answer simultaneously as Mom walks away, telling her to hurry up. Dana1 tells Dana2 that one of them has to go to class, and that the other can’t be seen. Dana2 replies that Dana1 should go, with her being the original Dana. Dana1 reacts that since she is the original, she should be the one having a good time.

They argue for a while before realizing that since they share experiences anyway, it won’t matter who goes. Dana1 volunteers to continue being the good girl, while Dana2 offers to hide out, then look for a way to have fun. Dana1 goes through her normal morning routine, but with Dana2 waiting in her room. In time, she leaves with her parents in her father’s car for school.

SEQ 4. Dana’s home, morning.

Once Dana1 leaves, Dana2 to bum around a bit, since she doesn’t have anything to do so early in the morning. She goes out her room to surprise their old maid, whom Dana2 assures her parents let her stay at home from an illness. Realizing she isn’t hungry since Dana1 already ate, she watches TV for about to hours but decides to go out. While dressing up, she spots her bathing suit in her closet and feels like a swim. So she packs up and goes to her parents’ room to look for their money hidden in their dresser. She leaves the house.

SEQ 5. Jeep/Clubhouse pool-school, morning.

Dana2 is commuting to a nearby clubhouse. The jeep she is on is noisy and uncomfortable, and the ride is made even more comfortable with the fact that Dana1 is already in school, just bored in class. Dana2 finally arrives at the clubhouse. Only a couple of people are there so early in the morning. She gets her suit on and swims for a bit before resting on a deck chair. She watches as an attractive guy does laps around the pool. When the guy comes up from the pool, he takes notice of Dana2, sits beside her, and strikes up conversation. Back in school, Dana1 is excited with the idea of going out with a guy, something she would never have done because of her strict parents.

SEQ 6. School/Dana’s home/Car--Mall/Pool Guy’s room, afternoon-evening.

Dana1 goes through the rest of her day in school tuning out everything, trying to drink in the joy of being with a guy. Dana2 and the Pool Guy had already had lunch together and were looking around shops and just talking. Dana1 knew she was beautiful but never thought it would be that easy to hook up with a guy. Evening came, and while Dana1 has dinner at home, Dana2 is in a bar with Pool Guy when he invites Dana2 to his place. As Dana1 has “family time” with her parents watching after-dinner TV, Dana2 gets it on with Pool Guy. Dana1 attempts to handle her composure as her parents become concerned over their daughter’s discomfort. Dana2 reaches climax and both Danas scream, upsetting Dana’s parents, and they insist they take her to the emergency room. As Dana2 collapses into Pool Guy’s arms, Dana1 smiles all the way to the hospital.

SEQ 7. Montage: Dana1 & Dana2’s lives in the deal, daytime/nighttime

A few weeks have gone by, and the Danas have been able to keep the situation going, with Dana1 still doing well in school and Dana2 still being able to party and have a good time. They have been meeting up for Dana1 to give her double money and in her spare time, Dana2 has been helping her double to cheat in her studies. Up until then, no one has noticed that there are two Danas.

SEQ 8. Film Guy’s apartment—Dana’s school/home, daytime

Dana2 has left Pool Guy for a filmmaker who has his own place and who’s had a bit of success, but no big breaks. He assures her that he will be big, and that she too could make it big in the entertainment industry. He turns her on to cocaine, and Dana2 becomes stuck on it, which means Dana1 is as well. Dana1 starts doing badly in class, but she can’t care less as the high the drugs bring and the fun Dana2 has with Film Guy more than makes up for it. Dana feels nothing but gratitude to the devil.

SEQ 9. Film Guy’s apartment, evening.

It all comes crashing down one night when Dana2 finds Film Guy in bed with another guy. He invites her to join them, but Dana2 can only go so far from her roots, and she leaves him not knowing where to go.

SEQ 10. Montage: Dana2’s life in withdrawal, evening.

She looks around for the friends she has made with Film Guy, but she can only stay so long and mooch off of them. She tries to gain favors with sex, but her withdrawal screws her over and she eventually finds herself homeless.

SEQ 11. Dana’s home, morning-evening.

Dana1, on the other hand, has also gone through a lot of trouble. She has done poorly in a lot of classes due to the drugs she experienced, and now that Dana2 is going through withdrawal, Dana1 can hardly go to school. Soon, Dana1 is expelled and is grounded permanently. Dana1 has had enough, and prays to the devil to end the deal. Dana2 does the opposite, wishing the devil to stay away even in her sorry state, as a part of her still wants to see the bright side of things. Their conflict of desires frustrates Dana1 as she curses God for all of what was happening. She decides to take matters into her own hands and plans to kill her double. In the middle of the night, she takes her dad’s hunting rifle, gets into her car, and goes to find her double.

SEQ 12. Random guy’s apartment, evening.

Dana2 becomes aware of Dana1’s intentions, and decided she had to try to kill her double too. She finds herself a gun through one of her past one-night stands, and decides to wait for Dana1 to come. Any strategy that one Dana makes would be known to the other, so they decide to see what happens.

SEQ 13. Alleyway, evening.

Dana1 finally arrives in a seedy alleyway in the dead of night. She sees Dana2 waiting at a streetlamp. She gets down from the car, rifle raised, and walks toward Dana2. Dana2 aims her pistol at Dana1, as they move closer to each other. Both are hesitating.

They ask each other if they are scared, as if they don’t already know it in their minds. Both blame each other for their problems. Dana1 argues that she should live since she was the original. Dana2 contests this, asking how she would know if she were the actual original. Dana2 asks her that wouldn’t she be killing the fun part of her, while Dana1 counters that if Dana2 killed her, she would be killing the good part of her. They continue arguing over who shoots whom and Dana2 suggests that they shoot each other at the same time, since that’s how it would go down anyway. Dana1 wonders if the devil foresaw all this, and that he got a two-for-one deal when both of their souls go down in hell together. Dana2 offers that they count until three, but that they don’t cheat, since that would be the least they can do for each other. Coming to a agreement, Dana1 counts one, then Dana2 counts two, then a shot rings out.

SEQ 14. Car/Dana’s home – daytime.

About four months have passed. Dana is in a car, staring into space and looking worn out. The car comes to a stop as her parents get something out from the trunk. They open the back door, and Dana’s dad helps her out of the car.

Dana is rolled on a wheelchair into the house by her mom. Her mom asks if she wants anything to drink or eat, but Dana quietly turns down the offer, only wanting to go into her room. Her mom wheels her into her room, and leaves. Outside the room, her parents worry over their daughter as to what happened months ago, when Dana was found alone, shot and bleeding in an alleyway, with a rifle and gun having her prints on them.

Alone in her room, Dana looks at herself, and cries. She smells the faint smell of smoke, and looks up to see the devil again. She cries to him bitterly why this had happened to her, and that this is his entire fault. The devil barely calms her, when he makes another offer, and that if she agrees to it, she will never experience hell.
The offer catches Dana’s attention, and she asks what she has to do. The devil tells her to kill herself and that this hell, her hell, will end. He goes on to say that she should have killed herself a long time ago. Dana asks what will happen to her soul, and the devil replies that he doesn’t know, and that only God knows, and he isn’t even sure if there is a God. He then asks which Dana she is, and Dana replies that she doesn’t remember anymore. The devil wishes her good luck, and vanishes.

End.
